How do I use Gooseless?

You use Gooseless just like a normal search engine. Enter what you are looking for in the search box. As you type Gooseless finds synonyms (i.e. words that mean the same thing) for each word in your search. and tells you how many different variations it can find. You can see the search results for different combinations by clicking the Goose-it! button. Back to Top

What are the black word dials for?

As Gooseless finds alternative words it loads them up into the black dials. You can nudge up and nudge down each dial by clicking on the little arrows. Every time you nudge a new set of search results will be displayed so you can explore the different sort of search results you will get with each different search phrase. Back to Top

What if I don't want a particular word to be changed?

If you want to keep a word unchanged just type the first letter as a capital letter. i.e. "best Thai restaurant in Paris" will change the words "best" and "in" but not Thai or Paris. Back to Top

Why are some words or phrases not changed by Gooseless even though they do not start with a capital letter?

Gooseless can only find a substitute for words in its database which includes almost 150,000 words. If it can't find a word it will leave it unchanged. Occasionally an entire phrase might be made of words not in the database. Also it won't change proper nouns like places or names if the first letter is a capital letter. Back to Top
